How we verify Veteran-Owned and Military Spouse-Owned badges
The documents we review, what each badge does and does not mean, and why a badge can never be bought.
What we check
For Veteran-Owned, we review proof of service alongside evidence of majority ownership of the business. For Military Spouse-Owned, we review proof of the spouse's marriage to a service member or veteran alongside the same ownership evidence. For Offers Military Discount, we review the provider's written discount policy and confirm it applies to their own fees.
Badges are granted by our staff only
Providers cannot self-assign a badge, and no badge is available for purchase at any price. Badges give a visual highlight and a filter in search. They do not raise a provider's position in results.
What a badge is not
A badge is not a recommendation, a guarantee of outcome, or a substitute for your own due diligence. Check licensing with your state, ask for references, and read your agreement.
This guide is general information, not legal advice, and does not reflect any government position. Confirm details with a licensed professional in your state.
